During that time we led hundreds of day tours and field trips, taught dozens of classes, presented presentations and performed thousands of hours of wildlife research and education &#8211; and it was all great fun! Eddie and Noreen retired from leading tours in 2025 but are still very active in nature education, birding, photography and conservation in the San Francisco area.<\/p>\n<p>See you in the field!<\/p>\n<h2><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-248\" src=\"http:\/\/naturetrip.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Eddie-Bartley-628x471-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Eddie-Bartley-628x471\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"http:\/\/naturetrip.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Eddie-Bartley-628x471-300x200.jpg 300w, http:\/\/naturetrip.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Eddie-Bartley-628x471.jpg 628w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/h2>\n<h2>Eddie Bartley<\/h2>\n<p>Eddie Bartley is founding partner and lead naturalist for Nature Trip, a wildlife and bird watching, natural history and photography company based in San Francisco.\u00a0 His wildlife photography has been published in <em>Bay Nature Magazine<\/em>, the <em>Presidio Times<\/em>, the <em>San Francisco Chronicle<\/em>, the San Francisco Field Ornithologist\u2019s<em> Field Journal<\/em> and Golden Gate Audubon\u2019s newsletter, the <em>Gull<\/em>.\u00a0 He is an active volunteer researcher for the Golden Gate Raptor Observatory and the Golden Gate Audubon Society. \u00a0Eddie has performed wildlife research with Point Blue Conservation Science (formerly Point Reyes Bird Observatory), the Hungry Owl Project and the San Francisco Bay Bird Observatory. \u00a0He has been featured in several articles in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sfgate.com\/magazine\/article\/Eddie-Bartley-knows-his-birds-2329040.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">San Francisco Chronicle<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Eddie is a visiting researcher and instructor for the &#8220;Master Birding Program&#8221; at the California Academy of Sciences (since 2013) and Golden Gate Audubon Society (since 2004). He has also taught natural history and ornithology classes for more than 15 years at numerous organizations such as Point Reyes Field Seminars and at the University of San Francisco.\u00a0 Eddie is also the President of the <a href=\"http:\/\/farallonislandsfoundation.org\/\">Farallones Island Foundation<\/a> and the Vice-president of the <a href=\"http:\/\/cnps-yerbabuena.org\/\">Yerba Buena Chapter<\/a> of the California Native Plant Society. She was a major contributor to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sf-planning.org\/index.aspx?page=2506\">Standards for Bird Safe Buildings in San Francisco<\/a>\u00a0and also contributed to Audubon California&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/ca.audubon.org\/california-important-bird-areas-acknowledgements\">Important Bird Areas in 2007<\/a>.\u00a0She has presented information on citizen science and volunteer engagement at numerous conservation and educational organization including\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/education.ucdavis.edu\/sites\/main\/files\/file-attachments\/cas_cit_sci_mtg_proceedings.pdf\">UC Davis<\/a>. Noreen is also\u00a0co-author of &#8220;<em>A Field Guide to 100 Birds of Heron&#8217;s Head: Islais Creek to Candlestick Point, San Francisco<\/em>&#8220;.
